Take the first step toward achieving your goals.
The start of a new school year is the perfect time to reset your habits. Between classes, homework, sports, clubs, and a busy social calendar, it’s easy to feel like there isn’t enough time to work out. The reality is that if you wait until you “have time,” your workouts will often be the first thing to get pushed aside. Instead, make your health a priority by scheduling your workouts just like you would a class or an important meeting.
As the school year is approaching, challenge yourself to plan at least three workouts for the week. Open your calendar, choose the days and times that work best for your schedule, and commit to showing up. Whether you have 45 minutes or an hour, blocking off that time ahead of time makes it much more likely that you’ll follow through. Remember, consistency is far more important than having the “perfect” workout.
Want an extra boost of accountability? Share your workout schedule with a friend, roommate, or family member. Better yet, invite someone to join you. Having someone expecting you at the gym can make all the difference on the days when motivation is low. Even if you don’t work out together, checking in with each other throughout the week helps keep everyone on track.
One of the best parts of being at Impact is the community. Introduce yourself to someone in class, ask a coach for help, or make plans with your gym friends to meet before or after a workout. Building relationships makes coming to the gym something you look forward to, not something you have to do. Start with three workouts, and let that routine carry you through the rest of the semester.
