Back to School Series: Quick Breakfasts for Busy Mornings

Mornings during the school year can feel rushed, but skipping breakfast often leaves you feeling tired, distracted, and hungry before lunch. A simple, balanced breakfast can give you the energy you need to focus in class, perform better in workouts, and avoid reaching for snacks later in the day. The good news is that breakfast doesn’t have to be complicated or time-consuming.

The goal is to include a good source of protein along with carbohydrates and healthy fats to help keep you full. If you have a few extra minutes, try scrambled eggs with toast, Greek yogurt topped with fruit and granola, or overnight oats made with protein powder. If you’re constantly running out the door, there are still plenty of great options like a protein shake, protein bar, cottage cheese with fruit, or homemade egg bites that can be prepared ahead of time.

Meal prepping even one or two breakfast options on Sunday can make your mornings much easier throughout the week. Prepare overnight oats, bake a batch of egg muffins, or portion out yogurt and fruit so everything is ready to grab before class. Small habits like these save time and make healthy choices much easier.
